چکیده
BACKGROUND A BHR (Birmingham hip resurfacing) prosthesis was implanted in 445 people Norway. Adverse reactions can arise as a result of the release metal ions from metal-on-metal joint surfaces made cobalt-chromium alloy. The aim study to analyse during first five years after surgery patients with and investigate whether this linked clinical complications. MATERIAL AND METHOD Forty-four male (median age 53 years) at Coastal Hospital Hagevik period October 2009 May 2013 were monitored by means blood samples before implantation three months, one year, afterwards. Analyses cobalt chromium whole performed. Function scoring used clinically assess prosthetic joint. RESULTS Metal ion concentrations increased between date year later (p < 0.001), subsequently remained stable. After years, median (min.- max.) 1.1 µg/L (0.4-6.3 µg/L) 1.4 (0.4-11.7 respectively for unilateral prostheses (n = 36), 2.3 (1.6-28.5 2.6 (1.7-14.1 bilateral 8). Five underwent revision surgery, while other had good function. INTERPRETATION Patients significant increase their but levels still well below threshold value 7 ?g/L, which indicates an risk

متن کاملDevelopment of Organic-Based Thin Film Magnets for Spintronics
In the growing field of spintronics, development of semiconducting magnets is a high priority. Organic-based molecular magnets are attractive candidates since their properties can be tailor-made by organic chemistry. Other advantages include low weight and low temperature processing. Vanadium tetracyanoethylene, V(TCNE)x, x~2, is particularly interesting since it is one of very few semiconducti...

متن کاملOriani R A. The diffusion and trapping of hydrogen in steel. Acta Metall. 18:147-57, 1970.
The mobility of dissolved hydrogen in an iron lattice having a number of attractive interaction sites for hydrogen is analyzed assuming local equilibrium between the mobile and the trapped populations of hydrogen. Values for trap number and depth are obtained by applying the relevant equations to selected data on a variety of steels with and without cold work. [The SCI indicates that this paper...
